Meet Dr. Kokich
I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where for the past 24 years, I've been practicing orthodontics in Tacoma, Washington. Prior to beginning my career in dentistry, I attended Santa Clara University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree. After four amazing years in the Bay Area of California, I traveled across the country to Boston, Massachusetts, where I earned my dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Following dental school, I decided to follow in my father's (Vince Kokich Sr) footsteps and pursue a career in orthodontics. This led me to the University of Washington, where I received my Master’s in Orthodontics in 1999. Since then, I've been on faculty in the UW Department of Orthodontics as an Affiliate Assistant Professor. During that time, I conducted clinical research, and was awarded the Charles L. Pincus Clinical Research Award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
I'm currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists and a member of both the Angle Society and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. I've also written or co-written four book chapters and numerous scientific and review articles. Over the past 20 years, I have given more than 250 lectures nationally and internationally on interdisciplinary dentistry and dental aesthetics emphasizing comprehensive treatment planning and the importance of properly sequencing orthodontic, periodontal, and restorative treatment.
Practicing in Tacoma means a great deal to me. It's where my father practiced orthodontics for 35 years and it's where I’ve been fortunate to build relationships with patients throughout my professional life. I live right here in Tacoma, WA. My other passions include golf, skiing, and just spending time with my wife Michelle and our four children.
